  • “What Are You Doing Here, Mate?” – Produced by the Pamodzi Productions
The performance included a broad range of 45 local artists and community groups, actors, dancers of different genres, visual artists, portrait artists and sound engineers. Stories are based on transcripts from mostly local refugees to create a world based around an asylum seeker detention centre on a fictional island off the coast of Africa.

The piece itself aimed to reflect the ‘personal crisis’ undertones of the transcripts that spoke of the frustration and anxiety of ‘the waiting process’ whilst seeking asylum in a foreign country, often after life-threatening journeys.
